I have been on this search myself
by: Couch Dean

I have been on this search myself and found that each of us is the church. I was in Colorado then Washington state now in California. You are right the corporate church leaders have been deceived by this 501(c)3. To make this quick I am attaining the Word Of God International University in Los Angeles. This is one place that has not sold out just the opposite here they teach about way the church is not to be under any man's government/law.
If any one would like to learn what I have learn please contact me. Coach Dean(720)3190-8774 dean.golden@gmail.com.

by: LoveYourNeighbor

i'd love to worship Jesus in a place that is non501c3 but also: observes the 7th day Sabbath, teaches creation, is uplifting yet honest, takes the Bible literally as God's own word, doesn't require I spend money on clothes and time on make-up, not a hog for money, and not in any way tied to the Roman Catholic Babylonian church system nor trying to bring the world together, Which some church goers think is virtuous, but really is just facilitating satan's goal of one world religion.
Since I can't find all that, what should I settle for? Is 501c3 the most important thing? How do I decide?
Thank you.

Where are the Christian churches that are not 501c3 corporations
by: Admin

Such churches are rarer than hen's teeth. A scriptural alternative would be to start one with friends and family -- "wherever two or more are gathered in my name..." Then you have an ekklesia, the original name given to the early Christian gatherings.

Church is auto exempt!
by: Anonymous

In order to be considered for tax-exempt status by the IRS, an organization must fill out and submit IRS Form 1023 and 1024. However, note what the IRS says regarding churches and church ministries, in Publication 557

Some organizations are not required to file Form 1023. These include:

Churches, interchurch organizations of local units of a church, conventions or associations of churches, or integrated auxiliaries of a church, such as a men’s or women’s organization, religious school, mission society, or youth group. These organizations are exempt automatically if they meet the requirements of section 501(c)(3).

Churches are "Automatically Tax-Exempt"

According to IRS Code 508(c)(1)(A):

Special rules with respect to section 501c3 organizations.

(a) New organizations must notify secretary that they are applying for recognition of section 105c3 status.

(c) Exceptions

(1) Mandatory exceptions. Subsections (a) and (b) shall not apply to –

(A) churches, their integrated auxiliaries, and conventions or associations of churches.

This is referred to as the "mandatory exception" rule. Thus, we see from the IRS’ own publications, and the tax code, that it is completely unnecessary for any church to apply for tax-exempt status. In the IRS’ own words, a church "is automatically tax-exempt."

Churches Are Automatically Tax-Deductible

And what about tax-deductibility? Doesn’t a church still need to become a 501c3 so that contributions to it can be taken as a tax deduction? The answer is No! According to IRS Publication 526:

Organizations That Qualify To Receive Deductible Contributions:

You can deduct your contributions only if you make them to a qualified organization. To become a qualified organization, most organizations other than churches and governments, as described below, must apply to the IRS.

In the IRS’ own words a church "is automatically tax-deductible."

Churches Have a Mandatory Exception To Filing Tax Returns

Not only is it completely unnecessary for any church to seek 501c3 status, to do so becomes a grant of jurisdiction to the IRS by any church that obtains that State favor. In the words of Steve Nestor, IRS Senior Revenue Officer (ret):

"I am not the only IRS employee who’s wondered why churches go to the government and seek permission to be exempted from a tax they didn’t owe to begin with, and to seek a tax deductible status that they’ve always had anyway. Many of us have marveled at how church leaders want to be regulated and controlled by an agency of government that most Americans have prayed would just get out of their lives. Churches are in an amazingly unique position, but they don’t seem to know or appreciate the implications of what it would mean to be free of government control." From the Forward of In Caesar’s Grip, by Peter Kershaw

Obviously, either pastors unknowingly fall into 501c3 or they prefer the grants that come along with it.

non-501c3 giving
by: Anonymous

First - A church does not have to be a 501c3.

What are the giving rules for a 508 - church.
Can a 508 give money to the poor?
Pay a poor widows utility bill, late rent etc.

This 501c3 has turned the image of the church into a blood sucking monster that does nothing to help people in need.

Can a 501c3 church have a non-501c3 benevolece fund that people can give into with the understanding that their gift is not tax deductable, allowning the ministry to really GIVE to the poor and needy out of that fund?

Establishing 501c3-FREE churches
by: Dr. Thomas

For all of those who are searching for non-501c3 churches and those who are unsure how to start such a church, the answer is simple and clear...

"Wherever two are three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them". Mt 18:20

The word church is what misleads people. The word translated as "church" is actually "ekklesia", which means a gathering of people for either secular or religious purposes.

So a bible study group, or a worship group, or a religious discussion group is an ekklesia in the name of the Lord.

The term "church" instead of "ekklesia" was used
for political reasons.

James I was James VI of Scotland. when he inherited the English throne from Elizabeth I in 1604, he had the bible translated to his liking.

He insisted on church (kirche) being used because his new English title was "Supreme Governor of the Church of England".

So, "church" was a reference to the king's authority, while the ignored term "ekklesia" was a reference to the people who gathered, ungoverned by the state, for either religious or secular purposes.

So, the kingdom of God is within you and you can gather together to celebrate that without the state's permission.

That's how you find a non-501c3 church, by creating it.

In answer to the question about whether your church is 501C3, or not, I am certain if it was a non-501C3 you would know. The corporate ones do not advertise their status and the others are proud of their's. Finding a non-501C3 church is not easy but go to Pastor Church Baldwin's website. He has embarked on a project to help people start non-501C3 churches and to help those who are, release the bonds. The name is the Liberty Church Project and you can do a search on either to see what is close to you. For those in Texas, our church is in Allen, there is a great one in Pittsburg, Tx. and there are others you can find on Baldwin's site. In Christ, Leon

There is a small free church in Pryor and Hulbert Oklahoma
by: Anonymous

There is a small free church in Pryor and Hulbert Oklahoma. Called Ambassadors for Christ Fellowship Church. This church just started as a home church where the members come together once a month for worship. The preacher preaches the Word with passion and conviction and preaches only the Word. He is not afraid to preach against homosexuality, and same sex marriages, sexual immorality, cohabitation, Heaven and hell etc. But the best thing about the church is it does not have a building, the other weeks of the month it goes to the people in the parks, lakes, restaurants, streets and has church services and people are getting saved who would not normally ever step a foot inside a church. Anywhere we can find people that will receive the Lord is where we have church. Even a few of our members had church in a Wal-Mart parking lot and people where saved. And this church is not incorporated or carries a 501 (c) status and does not associate with those that are. The Lord is blessing the FREE CHURCH!! The people in this church are on fire for the Lord because there is no "fakeness" in it, it is all about truth, love, and serving others not ourselves.

If you would like more information on this exciting church contact me at kenb7772@gmail.com for more information. Our website will be up soon

The Worldliness Of American Churchs.
by: Tom

I believe this is the most grievous sin of the Evangelical church in America today. It has deposed Christ as sovereign head of HIS Church
by changing their status to corporation. They have "unequally yoked" Christ's Church to the State which is evil.

Problem is no pastor will discuss this with you. They don't like being told they are in error. I left my church over their lack of commitment to the Lord by they disrespect for Him. They liked the corporate structure. They said they needed the corporation to PROTECT THEM from lawsuits and judgments. I thought we looked to the Lord for that?

Another sign we are in the end days. Welcome to the Laodicea - the lukewarm church - whom Christ wants to spew from His mouth. So sad.

As a minister, I have a business to establish 501c3 status for churches, particularly a separate status from the Church. I share with them to never put the church organization under the 501c3 status as it is already recognized by the federal government and is a sacred entity. If you are doing major projects that impact the community and are seeking funds from local banks, community grants, state grants, and some federal grants, a 501c3 determination letter gives you this status for funding sources. Some contributors do leverage the tax write-offs where the Nonprofit organization is established to do community projects. A Church entity established by God, has ordained giving structures in place based on the Word of God for the upkeep and support of the Church for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

True
by: Stephen J

We all as Christians must seek the gospel( truth). The truth is entering into a contract with a government to gain some advantage monetarily is not glorifying God! We as the church, the body of Christ should not have constrictions on speeking our beliefes. This is a shame on the Church! The only way to fix this is for those who know this is wrong to start a church outrightly opposed to 501 c3 and speek the truth... Dont be the church that is spit out of the lords mouth because of luke warm messages! I am praying...

i left the coptic church
by: darius bagheri

i have now left the coptic orthodox church for her whoredoms and also am looking for a non 5o1c3 christian bible church. i have assumed the role of minister with my son, in that we have eucharist together at home. until i find rest in a non government church, i will continue doing what i am doing til i die. and, God willing, my son will pass on this eucharist to his son; that no government will infultrate our holy assembly again.

Where are the non-501c3 churches
by: Admin

Leon,

You are correct. After 1953 there are very few churches that are not under government supervision and censorship.

Applying for 501c3 disestablishes the organization as a church and makes it a tax haven for the congregation.

Most ministers, not trusting in God to provide for their ministry, entice donations by creating personal tax advantages for their constituents.

That means 501c3 churches are commercial and political in nature and not religious.

That sort of political/commercial activity is allowed by the IRS, while attempts to influence with donations and sermons those politicians who would uphold religious morality is forbidden, if the church wants to maintain its commercial status.

This means that such churches cannot speak God's truth about his law to human-created governments. And that appears to be just fine with most Christians.

Some people form bible study groups in their homes, and those are like the original churches.

However, some local governments are fining those who host such meetings on the grounds that they violate local street parking ordinances.

Of course, that policy violates the freedom of assembly clause of the First Amendment. But, unfortunately, most Americans don't know that, having never read our short and to-the-point Constitution, and so cannot defend themselves, or their right to practice their religion.

Hosea said:"My people perish for want of knowledge".

The reality is that you may have to bond with others of like thinking and form your own church.

[And, if the congregation does not know their God-given rights, and offer prayers of thanksgiving for them, then they should arrange to meet someplace that has sufficient off-street parking ;) ]

P.S. We don't usually publish email addresses, but we left yours visible in the hope that some other knowledgeable readers from your area may be able to offer you specific advice and directions to the nearest non-501c3 church.
